Find common-use supply arrangements

The easiest way to buy for government is to use an existing whole-of-government, common-use supply arrangement, such as a standing offer arrangement (SOA) or preferred supplier panel.

We have established these arrangements to provide cost-effective and efficient ways to buy products and services.

Using common-use supply arrangements

Section 9 of the Queensland Procurement Policy states that common-use supply arrangements must be used unless:

  • the delivery area is regional or remote, and there are no capable and competitive local suppliers on the arrangement.
  • the procurement activity directly supports a relevant government economic, ethical, social and environmental objective or target set out in Principle 1 of the Policy and cannot be met using this arrangement.

Exemptions from using an applicable common-use supply arrangement must be approved by the relevant agency delegate.

To use one of these arrangements:

  1. Search the Queensland Government Arrangements Directory (QGAD) for specific products or services or for category groups that contain procurement arrangements.
  2. After identifying a suitable arrangement, use the guides, tools and templates to assist you with supplier selection, pricing options and market engagement.
  3. Refer to your agency's procurement procedure before buying, as it governs how your agency uses common-use supply arrangements.

If you are having difficulty finding a service or product, view one of our 6 category pages for more information:

If a suitable whole-of-government arrangement is not available, you may consider:

  • using an agency arrangement (some require agency approval)
  • getting a quotation using your agency guidelines.

Procurement assistance for non-government organisations

Eligible charitable or benevolent non-government organisations (NGOs) may achieve price benefits and value for money by purchasing from common-use supply arrangements.

Queensland Government Procurement manages access to the Queensland Contracts Directory (QCD) for eligible NGOs.

To apply for access to the QCD, complete the Procurement Assistance for Charitable or Benevolent Non-Government Organisations (NGOs) form.
